As I write this Chiron (the wounded healer) is retrograde in my 5th house in the sign of Aries. But what does that really mean?

First, if you’re new to astrology, let’s break this down in simple terms. (Also check out my Astrology Basics Guide if your curiosity is fired up!)
You commonly recognize your Zodiac sign which is your Sun sign (the Zodiac sign that the sun was in at your time of birth), however there are many other planetary bodies and points in the sky at your time of birth. This includes the moon, all the planets, asteroids, and other points in the sky that are significant.
Keep in mind that since the day you were born those planets and points continued to move. By taking a snapshot of the sky at your time of birth, and comparing it to a snapshot of the sky at present day or any other date in time, this is how an astrologer can look at the seasons of change in your life. As the planets and points change, those placements can interact with your natal chart placements in different ways: harmoniously and sometimes less harmoniously to ask you to grow.

Back to the healing power of Chiron in Aries.
Chiron is a slow moving asteroid between Saturn and Uranus. It is said to be the wounded healer, or the scar that we show the world. It can give us roles as teachers and healers.
With Chiron in the 5th house, it means that the healing that is happening and the work to be shared can be done so through creativity, childlike spirit, and playfulness. (This is me during Chiron Retrograde in Aries; healing my inner child).
Wherever Chiron is currently transiting in your chart, not only is there healing happening, but the retrograde state of Chiron, can pull you even more inward. By expressing itself through Aries like energy, we may feel that we are challenging ourselves to heal more than we ever have. We may feel the courage to face those deep wounds head on, reflect deeply on them, and finally be ready to make them a part of our story.
This period of time is incredibly impactful for those who have Chiron in Aries in their natal chart. You can book a session or report with me to find out where Chiron is (and many other planetary placements) in your natal chart.
The fiery nature of Aries brings a warrior-like energy to this Chiron retrograde period which lasts from this past July through mid-December 2021. During this time we can face deep wounds that we thought we had already worked through. Chiron is in a different place in each person’s astrological natal chart, so you may be healing in a different area of life than others.

But what does this inner work do for us?
The inner work that we do while Chiron is Retrograde in Aries can one day allow us to share our story and inspire others to heal. It can give us renewed confidence that we overcame past and present challenges. We may begin to see those wounds not as wounds, but as incredible transformations.
Chiron retrograde in Aries is a time that builds warriors.
